What You’d Need
What would you need if you decided to implement Microsoft Exchange 2007 into your company? It is the perfect program for any business, whether big or small. If you chose to do it yourself instead of going through a hosted exchange server, you’d need a few things:
• A server – a standard server can cost you a few thousand dollars, at least.
• The Exchange Server program – runs a little under $1,000
• All server hardware – totaling about $3,500 or so, if you get a good deal on the hardware
• Microsoft Certified Installation – forty hours will run you around $4,000
• Virus protection – another few hundred dollars
• Microsoft Maintenance – two hours a week is around $10,400 for the year.
Looks like a lot, doesn’t it? If you choose, instead, to use hosted exchange, you will be saving over $20,000. That’s the price of a halfway decent car, or of a nice boat! Can you afford to spend $20,000 on your business just to have Microsoft Exchange 2007? Most businesses, especially the smaller ones, can’t. The best way to get the program without having to pay these huge prices is to simply hire a hosted exchange server!
